Our Promise

RealRecruit™ strives to be the most trusted and transparent place for today’s Collegiate Athletic Department to evaluate, measure, and promote their teams, and for college sports fans to discover the school that they love. We follow these simple principles and guidelines to ensure the most authentic, transparent and valuable information is available to Administrations and recruits while balancing fairness to everyone.

For institutions that subscribe to our services, we will only publicize comments that are agreed upon by a majority of team members.

We apply the same standard of review for all Content, as outlined below:

  • We use technology filters & algorithms to detect fraud and gaming, and require a school-sponsored email verification or a valid Social Media account for all members submitting content.
  • We moderate every piece of Content through a two-step moderation process. The first gate of review is technological. We apply sophisticated technology that analyzes multiple attributes of the content. If the Content does not pass technological review, a team of human moderators reviews the content to determine if it meets our guidelines. Additionally, a human always moderates any Content that is flagged.
  • We either allow the content to post as it was submitted, or we refuse to post it. But we never edit posted content.
  • We stay neutral in all cases of dispute and do not act as the finder of fact.
  • We believe in the principle of anonymity — everyone has a right to voice their opinion or be heard without fearing retribution or other unwanted attention.

Please note that RealRecruit™ uses the term "Content" to describe reviews, ratings, photos, awards, descriptions, bios and other user-submitted content. See our Terms of Use for a more complete explanation of what constitutes Content and how we treat it.

Content Guidelines

Administrators and recruits rely on RealRecruit™'s reviews and other user-submitted Content to improve their department, promote real reviews from real athletes, and help fans discover a school they love. Please follow these guidelines to ensure that everyone can benefit from a helpful, balanced and authentic community.

  • Tell it like it is… for real — We approve Content that offer insights that can only come from a real athlete that has been there within the past five years. Athletes will be able to only submit one review at the conclusion of each season.
  • Stay balanced — We believe there’s something positive about every Athletic Department, and that even the best institutions have something they can improve upon. So, we invite you to think about your experience from a few perspectives and include both a pro and a con to provide a balanced review in your Content.
  • Take the high road — We encourage a healthy and constructive discussion about the workplace. We don’t accept Content that include malicious personal attacks (by name, title, or association), disclose personal or confidential information, or appear to be some attempt to create issues with the NCAA and other amateur athletic organizations.
  • Stay calm — We realize talking about your student-athlete experience can get some people wound up, but we don’t approve Content that includes certain profanities, or any obscenities, aggressive, or discriminatory language that we consider unacceptable for our community. We will reject Content that include accusations of, or threats of, violence. (General discussions of misconduct are allowed.) We reserve the right to report Content that suggests or threatens criminal or unlawful behavior to the proper authorities, if necessary.
  • Help others — RealRecruit is about sharing information that helps the entire community. We reject Content that does not relate to an Athletic Department, are too specific to your personal situation, are off-topic or are otherwise not useful or meaningful to our community. We will reject any Content meant as an advertisement or containing a web link.
  • Be authentic — All Content should be original — no substantial quoted material from other sources, including (but not limited to) websites, e-mail correspondence, other reviews, etc.
  • Keep your secrets — There is a difference between providing insight and insider information. Do not submit Content that reveals any confidential, internal team or school information. To safeguard privacy, we do not allow you to identify yourself or include any contact information (about yourself or others) in your posts.
  • Remember your grammar — Your writing doesn’t have to be perfect, but we expect you to make an effort. Please do not use excessive capitalization or punctuation, poor grammar and/or spelling, improper formatting, nonsense words, repeated words or filler characters.
  • Honor your Institutional Integrity — Universities and Athletic Departments specifically commit to hold themselves to the same level of honesty and integrity in submitting and posting Content that would be expected of student-athletes or employees. Ensure that the information you post is accurate and honest, sets a good example that reflects well on your institution, and complies with all applicable regulations, guidelines, and privacy laws (including NCAA regulations, the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act ("FERPA"), and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 ("HIPAA")).

If you are an agent or a wannabe agent looking to sign up some prospects, get lost. If you’re looking to troll a recruit, student-athlete, institution, or even the NCAA, AAU, the USOC, or any other person, entity, or organization for whatever reason, scram. Seriously. You simply are not welcome here, and we will ban you immediately if we suspect anything inappropriate. Everything is spelled out in our Terms of Use. There is no shortage of places on the internet and social media where you can do your worst, but not here.

Photos & Awards Guidelines

A picture is worth a thousand words — A great photo can tell a fan a lot about the school and team they are evaluating. We welcome photos of building interiors and exteriors, school events, and interesting items showcasing the culture and the work environment.

Please do not post:

  • screenshots
  • photos of marketing material, logos or websites
  • portraits of individuals
  • photos of athletes in a healthcare setting
  • photos that document recruiting violations or disclose confidential information
  • photos not relevant to the student-athlete setting

Photo captions must also be considered appropriate in accordance with our Reviews Guidelines.

Showcase your team & coaches awards — We encourage you to post awards and accolades received by your team or coaches within the past seven years that relate to the Athletic Department.
